Good Design Award win: The Össur Power Knee

For more than seven decades, the Good Design Awards have created awareness about contemporary design to honour both products and industry leaders in design and manufacturing.

Submissions are judged by a jury of distinguished design professionals, leading industry specialists and design press on the following criteria: innovative design, new technologies, form, materials, construction, concept, function, utility, and energy efficiency, and sensitivity to the environment.

We’re excited to announce that in partnership with Össur we have won another Good Design Award win in the medical sector, this time for our work on the Össur Power Knee.

Our team worked with Össur to improve the performance and design of an existing powered prosthetic knee, creating designs that adhered to international medical device standards.

Power Knee is a motor-powered, artificially intelligent prosthetic knee joint designed to restore the power of lost muscles to help people live life without limitations.

The latest design improves the performance, reliability, and aesthetic design of the Power Knee, and is designed with a broad target audience including high activity users.

Through innovative technical engineering, structural analysis, physical modelling, accelerated life testing (including rigorous software testing), key performance and reliability aspects of the design were improved.
