The Ethnic Diversity Excellence Programme: Meet the successful applicants

This year marks the start of our Ethnic Diversity Excellence Programme – our attempt to acknowledge and change the visible lack of diversity within the UK design industry as we provide three final year university students from Ethnic Minority & Heritage Backgrounds with an 8-week industry placement.

The EDE Programme is designed to equip interns with the knowledge and skills focussed around their final year project and help support their future entry into the design industry. As well as mentoring from KD, and further development opportunities from our industry partners, the programme provides £2,000 sponsorship each for three successful candidates.

We’re thrilled to announce our three successful applicants, who will be beginning their placements in autumn 2021. Introducing, Jun Xuan Goh, MEng Integrated Design Engineering student at the University of Bath, Zahrah Thomas, Design For Industry student at Northumbria University and Nicole Wan, MEng Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Bath.

We’re excited to welcome these fantastic applicants to our team and look forward to seeing the EDE Programme’s future impact. Keep your eyes peeled for updates on their placement journey in the coming months and find out more about our placement students below.
